![]() ![]() Custom content should go in the mods folder, tray files, well, in the tray folder. If it’s about the transfer of the (build/interior) files: make sure to read the installation guide, also included in all my downloads. If the links to other creator’s creations are down, it’s either because they’ve retired or have taken them down. If you mean you’re having trouble downloading mods/cc that I’ve included in the cc lists, I’m afraid I can’t help with that. If you want, I can send you some temporary WeTransfer links with the files, so you can download them straight to your computer. If you mean you’re having trouble downloading the files to my builds/interiors/recolours (so in SimsFileShare), send me a PM. I checked my links and for me they seem to work, so I’m assuming that if this is giving you problems, it might have something to do with your browser/settings/computer. Test the two conflicting mods alone together in a fresh save before trying it with your actual saves.Hi Anon, first of all: oh my god what compliments! This totally made my day, thank you! <3Īnd I’m so sorry you’re having problems! I’m not sure I completely understand the root of the problem, though… Make sure to create a backup of your favorite saves before loading up the game. And since unresolved/poorly-resolved mod conflicts can break stuff depending on the circumstances, I encourage you to: If you’re unsure, ask the creator(s) of one of the mods.Īs I said before, there are lots of conflicts that this strategy alone will not be able to fix. Rely on modders to address whether conflicts with other mods can be addressed this way (unless you have tuning experience in which case you might be able to determine whether or not this will work for yourself). Step 7: Add the files you want to load last to the Overrides folder. In Notepad, you can do ctrl+S or click File > Save. Be careful with the slashes here the placement is important. If you named it “_Overrides” or something else be sure to reflect that. Long story short: this is usually in “Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4” on Mac and PC, but may be located elsewhere if you did an advanced install. If you’re unsure where this folder is, Crinrict has lots of good information on where to find it and what it contains here. The Mods folder will generate inside of your user files folder. Step 2: Navigate to your Mods folder in File Explorer or Finder This will make sure you have a Mods folder created, and that when you add mods to it, they’ll load in-game. Step 1: Run the game at least once and enable mods A plaintext editor like Notepad (Windows) or TextEdit (Mac). If you’re not familiar, don’t worry: we’ll go step by step. Add a new folder in your Mods called Overrides, and then update your resource.cfg to give that folder priority. If you’re familiar with the Sims 3’s modding scene, the process for doing this is basically exactly the same as it was for that game. Nothing else in Zero’s packages relies on anything in the specific file I edited, so making mine load last and override that part of Zero’s package won’t break anything. So, like I mentioned in the post for the criminals mod, although that mod technically edits some files that are also edited in Zero’s No Randoms mod, you can easily make the two compatible by making my mod load last. It occurred to me while I was making my Police Station Criminals are Criminals Mod that some folks out there may not know how to create a working Overrides folder.Īnd if you don’t know what that is, it’s basically a folder that you can use to resolve (some) conflicts between mods that edit the same tuning resources.
